In the winter months, we encounter a frozen realm of meltwater passages beneath the glaciers of Svalbard. These passages originate during the summer season when the snow and ice undergo melting.

Depending on the prevailing conditions, we may choose to hike to the ice cave's entrance either with or without snowshoes starting from the parking area. The elevation gain is approximately 350 meters, so a moderate level of physical fitness is recommended for the ascent.

Upon reaching the ice cave entrance, we equip ourselves with helmets, spikes, and headlamps before descending into the cave. Inside, we carefully manage our time to ensure you have the opportunity to explore an underground realm featuring chambers, narrow corridors, and layers of formidable ice crystals.
